2009 FBR OPEN MEDIA CREDENTIALS
To apply for 2009 FBR Open Media Credentials, please check back in early December 2008 for more information. The deadline to apply for credentials is January 15, 2009.
MEDIA CREDENTIALS ELIGIBILITY
Media credentials will be issued only to full-time personnel of recognized daily and local weekly newspapers, news services, publications that regularly cover golf, national radio and television networks, local radio and television stations as space permits. Since only working credentials are issued, please do not request credentials for employees who will not be directly involved with the coverage of the event.
Freelance reporters and photographers may reserve credentials only through a recognized news agency and only if they are assigned to provide daily coverage or are working on a specific assignment.
The PGA TOUR's media credential requirements for 2009, call for mandatory photo ID credentials for those media members who will be:
1. Interviewing players in the
2. Shooting video or taking photographs of players on the driving range or inside the ropes.
No photo IDs will be taken of freelancers unless they have been retained by a recognized media outlet for the week. PGA TOUR Media Officials will still issue photo armbands on a day-by-day basis during tournament week.
Holders of a PGA TOUR-issued media photo credential will be admitted to the tournament and will need no other credentials. However, they are expected to fill out the application form in order for us to make allowances for working space.
