Located at the TPC Scottsdale Putting Green, the Special Olympics Open features 12 Special Olympian athletes, 12 celebrities or sports stars and 12 business leaders from our community. The event is open to all ticket holders and media and lasts about an hour.

TELEVISION:   All four rounds are scheduled to be televised:  Live in Phoenix on Thursday and Friday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm MST on The Golf Channel; live Saturday (1:00 - 4:00 pm MST) and Sunday (1:00 - 4:00 pm MST) on CBS (Ch 5 in Greater Phoenix). 

DEFENDING CHAMPION:  J.B. Holmes (-14) $1,080,000

CHARITIES:  The FBR Open raises money for charities, most of which provide programs that benefit youth.  Recent beneficiaries include Homeward Bound, The First Tee, Arizona Special Olympics, Valley of the Sun United Way, Valley Boys and Girls Clubs and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona. Since the tournament moved to the TPC in 1987, The Thunderbirds have raised more than $53 million for charity.

TICKETS: Daily general admission is $25. Children ages 17 & under are free when accompanied by an adult.  The FBR Open is never sold out and tickets will be available at the gate during tournament week.  Advance daily general admission tickets will be available until January 25, 2009 at all Ticketmaster ticket centers and by phone at 480-784-4444 in Greater Phoenix; and online via www.fbropen.com or www.ticketmaster.com

COORS LIGHT BIRDS NEST:  The popular FBR Open entertainment tent returns Wednesday through Saturday evenings. The Birds Nest will be located directly across from the tournament entrance at the corner of 82nd St and Bell Road. The Birds Nest entertainment lineup will be announced in December.

BIRDS NEST GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS:  $25 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (480) 784-4444 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com

PARKING:      FREE Public Parking (with shuttle access to the tournament gates). From the WEST, public parking is at Loop 101 and Hayden Road.  We recommend that eastbound Loop 101 drivers exit at Hayden, and drive south into the parking lot. From the EAST, parking is at WestWorld.  We recommend that drivers exit Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd., drive north to Bell Road, turn east to 94th street, and south into the parking lot entrance. The FREE shuttles will operate Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; Wednesday through Saturday from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm; and Sunday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.
